Jess, obviously delighted to meet me |
Welcome to my angling diary. Here I will tell you about my trials and tribulations as I embark on my quest for Barbel (and other species) on the Warwickshire Avon, Severn and Teme.

I manage to meet Jess Ennis
Ok, I appreciate this has nothing to do with the nature of my blog but I thought a picture with Jess Ennis was worth sharing. As part of my job, I was fortunate enough to be invited to the 'School Sport Matters' awards backed by Aviva and the Daily Telegraph along with two children from my class. The school I work at was one of three nominees for Primary School of the Year. I got to hob nob with lots of sporting stars including Will Greenwood, Sally Gunnell, Jonathan Edwards, Christine Ohuruogu and of course Jess. There was also a fine dinner and I ended up on the stage having to address the masses as we managed the commended award. Must say the sporting folk were really nice people and I even got a tour of Lords cricket ground and saw the famous ashes and the England dressing room.
